Finding What I Was Looking For

Thinking back to the night I met Rob, I felt right at ease with him. I don't remember laughing like that in a very long time. The whole night was definitely a story in itself but the way we both handled it was perfect. I learned so much about him that night. I didn't realize it right away but he was exactly what I had been looking for. As we talked about our journeys in life and our struggles it became clear to me that we looked at life the same way. That we had the same values. That we were both looking for the same things out of the second part of our lives.

The most important thing that I learned was that he was someone that I could see myself going through life with. The more I got to know him, the more I liked who he was. Even with all the twists and turns that he let me know were a big part of his life, none of it scared me. I wanted it all. I wanted to be part of it all.

We started talking about life as OUR life. We began to build our future. It didn't take long at all to get comfortable with each other. I am sure that everyone thinks it's too fast but these were the same people who passed judgment in the past too. This is my life and I am the one who gets to live it. It has never felt too fast, it has just felt perfect and it has felt right.

He met the family and fit right in. I know it sounds cliché but I feel as though he is my missing piece. I feel like together we can conquer the world.

Dumb Home & Slowing down

Enough already with the smart house. You know that I want? I want a dumb home. I want reading nooks and millworks and thoughtful collections...
